Sellersville Theatre
In Loving Memory
Meg Fox
Trump Marina Summer 2006
March 7th was the day. This show was booked back in September of 2007. Got a call from our booking agent and he mentioned a theatre in P.A. My first thought was at least we would have one fan there and of course I was thinking of Meg. I contacted Meg & she was totally pumped up for this gig and it was minutes from her house, not knowing that this would be the last time I would ever speak with her.
The day started off with it's usual "pre-show" load out, thinking your forgetting everything. The weather was rough, we had a -3 hour drive into PA fighting some tough conditions. Got there in pretty good time. As the night got closer to show time I began to become more angry. Meg's not here and it's just not right. A friend, a wife, a mother of four has just been taken away from everybody. Towards the end of the show I found a familiar face in the crowd standing in the third row my side. Joyce!!!!!
She finally made it, after a five hour drive she was there. Joyce along with many of our Who family & friends raised over $4000 in Megs honor which she presented to the Fox family that night. Many of Megs friends along with her husband Jeff and two of her children were in attendance. I had the pleasure to meet Megs family and friends after the show. Jeff told me that Meg loved coming to our shows and that he and his family were here tonight in Meg's honor.
After "I Can't Explain" we ran the Video tribute to Meg. To see it on a huge video screen behind us was touching. It was clear how much Meg loved life, her friends, family and The Who. Right following the tribute I said a simple line to all " Life is short don't take it for fucking granted."
I would like to Thank the Fox family and friends, Stoney on Keyboards, Jim running the Video synch, The Starkey Brothers Mike and Marc for the incredible video montage of Meg ,Sue for the Photos, Clint for the Video spots, and most of all Joyce for showing her Love and support for her Who babe Meg.
I guess the only way I could say goodbye to Meg was through "The Who's" music that night. It was time to let go, so during the end of My Generation, She "Joined Together with The Band" along with some "Old Red Wine" and if any of you were wondering why I was singing "Shine On", Megs video tribute was synched to the beautiful song by Rachell Fuller called "Shine" and the chorus is "Stand Back and Watch me Shine" well it's her time now to shine onto to others in a different place. Meg battled breast cancer for 2 years. She will be missed by many and will never be forgotten.
